Why is Art Important?

Educators tell us it encourages fine motor skills, neural development, and problem-solving abilities. Therapists tell us its value because it allows children to process their world, and emotions in a safe way as it gives them critical sensory input.

Artists tell us it is important for its own sake as a source of beauty and expression, as well as simply the process or creating. Parents tell us art is vital to their families as it keeps everyone engaged and helps with sometimes difficult transitions of the day. Kids tell us that art is fun, an activity they enjoy.

Major companies around the world tell us some of the most valued skillsets when interviewing candidates are determination and persistence, problem-solving ability and creativity. Gone are the days where the person with the best degree or grades got the job. Honing these attributes in a child greatly increases his chances of success in life.

“Francis & Adele really enjoy the art class. I can see the delight in their eyes after each class & they keep telling me they want to go back tomorrow. You must be doing something magical with them :)”
